With his roots firmly planted growing up on a beef farm, and some dairy share-farming thrown in for good measure, Russ understands the thin margins often dealt with by modern farmers. Gaining his Pilots licence at 18, Russ has 27 years in aviation, with the highest Licence available – Air Transport Pilot Licence. Still in his 30’s, Russ earned the responsibility of command of Airbus A321 and A320 aircraft for a major Australian international airline.

Seeking less time away from home and more time with family, Russ retired from the airlines after 12 years and still keeps his hand in by occasionally flying jets in search and rescue operations for the Australian Government.

Combining his farming background and love of aviation resulted in X-Drone Ag Services, and Russell's calm calculated approach to operations is well suited when entrusted with caring for farmers livelyhoods and bottom-line.
